St. John Ambulance Delivers Young Responders Course at Woodbury School

Today, St. John Ambulance delivered an invaluable Young Responders course at Woodbury School, providing our pupils with essential first aid training. This initiative aimed to empower young individuals with the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Throughout the course, pupils engaged in various practical activities that included CPR techniques, management of stab wounds, and effective bandaging methods. Participants were taught how to apply a tourniquet for stab injuries, an essential skill that could be crucial in real-life scenarios. The interactive nature of the training ensured that pupils not only understood theoretical concepts but also acquired hands-on experience, fostering confidence in their abilities.

In addition to the practical components, the course included discussions on critical topics such as knife crime and its implications within our society. This discourse encouraged students to reflect on the legal aspects and broader consequences of such violence, further enhancing their awareness and understanding of the issues faced in today’s context.

The Young Responders course was a significant step in equipping our young people with both first aid skills and vital life lessons, ensuring they are prepared to make a difference in emergencies and contribute positively to our community.
