This week, our school assembly was a truly special occasion as we gathered to celebrate the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, which Muslims around the world will commence from this weekend.
During Ramadan, Muslims observe fasting from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other activities. This profound act of worship fosters self-discipline, gratitude, and humility, as devotees seek Allah’s pleasure and blessings. It is a time for reflection, forgiveness for past transgressions, and an opportunity to cultivate good habits and spiritual growth through remarkable self-control.
Fasting is not merely an act of devotion but a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and compassion towards those in need. As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, the observance of Ramadan culminates in Eid ul-Fitr, the joyous Festival of Breaking the Fast, where families and friends gather to celebrate their spiritual journey and express gratitude for the strength gained throughout the month.
Our assembly was a delightful celebration, complete with beautiful decorations, uplifting music, and scrumptious Arabic desserts, notably the homemade Kunafa prepared by our talented Teaching Assistant, Hala. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful event; the palpable enthusiasm from both our students and staff made the day truly memorable.
Ramadan Kareem to you all! 🌙✨ May this month bring you peace, joy, and reflection.
