We are delighted to announce that Great Howarth School has achieved the Bronze School Games Mark Award for their commitment and engagement in the School Games for 2023/24.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
Gavin Hosford, Head Teacher said:
“We have had a number of pupils entering inter-school tournaments and competitions against other schools in the Northwest, and the benefit for our young people can’t be underestimated. It’s not only about sporting prowess, but the softer skills around engaging with new people, competing, winning, losing, communicating, and teamwork.”
