We are very pleased to announce that the Eco-Committee at Olympus have been successful in meeting the requirements for the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award 💚
The school had to complete seven steps before applying for the green flag award. These were:

The Eco-Schools team said:
“It is evident that young people in your school are aware of environmental issues and passionate about protecting our planet – your large Eco-Committee, totalling 12 members, clearly demonstrates this.
Your Action Plan contains a diverse range of activities aimed at creating positive behaviours, making an immediate difference to your local environment, and expanding your Eco-Schools’ initiatives into your local community. The three curriculum examples provided are great examples of environmental education, they are practical and fun with a real-life context that is very relevant to pupils in your school.
Your Eco-Committee have used an impressive variety of methods to promote sustainability and keep their school community informed about their Eco-Schools’ initiatives throughout the academic year. We are incredibly proud of the remarkable success you’ve achieved in growing a variety of fruits and vegetables, and it’s fantastic to see them being used in your kitchen and food tech lessons. A huge well done to the students who built the planters—your collective hard work has really paid off.
We should also commend everyone involved in the litter picking efforts; together, you’ve made a significant difference in keeping your school grounds clean, tidy, and safe for both people and animals. Your dedication and teamwork are truly inspiring! Your Eco-Code is beautifully designed, with clear goals that relate to your achievements and future aspirations. It’s a great manifestation of your values and accomplishments!
