An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pastoral Lead to join our school in Croydon!

Olympus school provides education to children with SEN needs aged 11-16 as well as a pathways provision for young adults aged 16-19.

At Olympus, we have a dedicated team of staff who deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, very similar to the National Curriculum. Students have the opportunity to take qualifications from Entry Level to GCSEs in a range of subjects, choosing options in year 10.

We are looking for a flexible and dynamic team player who is committed to enabling pupils to succeed. We provide education and support to children and young people who have complex special educational needs and require their SEN provision to be delivered in a specialist setting.

We require our successful candidate to support the management of the pastoral welfare requirements of the school strategically and operationally. This role is key to ensuring that the ethos and standards are delivered at the school. Our Pastoral Lead will receive full support and guidance in developing the role.

As our Pastoral Lead, you will:

  • Take the strategic lead in managing the safety and attendance of all learners
    * Be responsible for the implementation of the school's systems, procedures, and policies in relation to attendance and punctuality.
  • Assist the Headteacher in helping to develop procedures with regards to pastoral provision for all learners.
    * Be an exemplary leader in dealings with staff, pupils, parents, and outside agencies
    * Liaise with teachers to make appropriate arrangements for classes when staff are unexpectedly absent, ensuring appropriate cover within the year groups
    * Participate in Positive Handling and de-escalation techniques training.
    * Promote and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people that you are responsible for or encounter.
